Best phone for texting and IM? What do you have? ?

And how much do you like it? I'm looking at the Samsung BlackJack II and the Blackberry Curve 8310. I use it mostly for texting and IM-ing. Any other phone you'd recommend? Has to be durable, I drop my phone a lot. I don't need a lot of apps but then again you never think you need them until you use them and then you can't live without them, lol. Thanks!
