How to get rid of stubborn pimples?

Ok, so i have mild acne, but on my forehead, chin, and nose, the acne NEVER goes away! I tried using Stridex pads, clean and clear cleansers, EVERYTHING! I went to the dermatologist and they gave me clindamycin phosphate lotion, and all it did was agrivate my pimples and turn them into flat red/purpple bumps. is there anyway to get rid of these zits quickly?!
