Why do republicans keep thinking they can make a come back in 2 years?

The republicans got their a$$ handed to them in the last election. The look bad, don't give any good ideas, and have the Bush legacy to deal with. What makes them think that in two years they can go from the brink of destruction to a sizable force in Congress. Who would want to elect people that got the crap kicked out of them and don't have good different ideas than what they preached in the last election.
